AGB Training supports The Road Home Project

On behalf of the Corio Norlane Lions Club, I am writing this letter in genuine thanks and appreciation of the commitment you have shown for the Road Home Geelong project during 2017.

Through your kind and generous support we have obtained over 150 jackets and coats, over 120 blankets and extra assorted bedding items.

A big thank you goes to Rosewall Neighbourhood Centre and their volunteers for supporting the project in packaging over 200 packs of Hygiene products.

These items are distributed to those experiencing homelessness and also those doing it tough throughout Geelong via the support agencies, such as Salvos Connect, Uniting Care, the Lazarus Centre, the Geelong Outpost and many churches.

If you know of other business or organisations local to you that may be interested in supporting us please get them to contact us.

We hope that you will support us again in 2018 and have an enjoyable and safe Festive period.

Bus Driving Assessment Feedback

I think I may have already provided very positive feedback about Mark. However it was my turn to be assessed today and I can still vouch for his great approach to the task. He was clear in instructions and expectations and at the same time genuine relaxed about the assessment process which in turn helped the drivers relaxed.

Thanks again for your help and thanks for sending Mark out.

Best instructor I ever had

Just giving some feedback regarding my training. All I wanna say about your school is best of best in the town. Best instructor I ever had is Branko. Strongly recommended for new students. Thanks a lot.

Hi Krystal, all I can say is thank God you got through to me and kept me in the course. Sarah was great this week, I just couldn’t say no again. I did the role play, nerves and all, and it was a turning point. I’m studying, smashing out the questions and have a whole renewed level of interest, thanks a lot for your support, God bless!

I studied the Dual Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs/ Metal Health at AGB in 2015. I found AGB to be an easy going and very accommodating facility to complete my certificate. Denis was my trainer for this course. I found him to be very personable and full of experience. His way of teaching is very relaxed and effective. My favourite unit during this course was Mental Health. I am now returning to AGB to complete a Dual Diploma in Alcohol and Other Drugs/ Mental Health this year. I’m looking forward to returning and furthering my education. The AGB staff are amazing and always helpful and supportive.

Just a little note of thanks and appreciation to you and your team for the successful start of the PPP group yesterday in Camperdown. It all went so well and I really appreciate all the assistance and professionalism that you have given to get this group together. You have been so obliging to even bring your team to the guys rather than them travelling as is the usual case for them.

I had a phone call from Aspire in Warrnambool yesterday to find out the go with the training as they have heard wonderful things from the Camperdown team about your training and they too are very interested in getting a group going. I’m meeting with them next week to explain the go so I’ll keep you informed.

You guys have been a dream run compared to the last group we worked with and our company intends to document these issues with the powers that be.

For some time now I have been referring job-seekers registered with Matchworks Corio to AGB for assistance in upskilling themselves with training provided through the Productivity Placement program.

I have always found the staff at AGB to be very helpful in discussing the courses and training provided with my clients. They have also stated they are happy with the level of service provided to them.

The training provided and subsequent licences obtained has also assisted some of the job-seekers to obtain work in a different industry due to upskilling themselves.

I will continue to refer clients through to AGB and use the services they provide.

I am just writing a short note to management in reference to the help and assistance that I was given by your staff in obtaining the necessary bus licence that I required.

I would like to personally thank Mark, Chris and all the office staff in Moolap for their friendly attitude and nothing-was-too-much-to-ask-manner.

It was an absolute pleasure to be trained by these staff and I would certainly recommend your business to anyone that is looking for training. Once again thank you for your assistance.

I started my Certificate 4 in Alcohol and Other Drugs Work course early 2009. I was scared that I wasn’t going to do the work or pass the exams and my self confidence had been eroded over time by the difficult life situation that I had been in for many years.

It was a struggle in the first few weeks and I did struggle a few other times during the course, but the AGB staff were always there and willing to go the extra yards and it made all the difference.

To cut a long story short, I was voted Student of Merit by my peers at the end of the course and received my Cert 4 in AOD. I also was offered a casual job at the Detox that I did my placement at.

If someone reads this and doesn’t believe it’s true, send your phone number or email address to AGB and ask them to send it to me. I will contact you and tell you in person what happened.

I now have several casual and part-time jobs with youth, community development and AOD work.

By the way, I was ready and worked hard for what I got. I am still with AGB doing the Diploma in AOD to continue to improve my skills so I can help my clients to achieve their goals.

I have recently been for my MR Licence (Medium Ridgid) at AGB. My driving instructor Paul was very helpful and guided me with clear instructions on how to drive a MR truck, giving me good tips on reading traffic in all situations, gear changing, slowing down, stopping safely, reversing and correct use of signaling to make the driving experience safe for me and other road users. The outcome after all this was a pass on my driver test for a MR licence. I am very pleased with the outcome and appreciate all the work my instructor put in. Thank you to everyone at AGB.

I am currently employed by (Tasco) The Australian Sawmilling Company. I started at Tasco in April 2000 and have performed a number of roles within the company. One of the job roles that I am currently performing is logistics and alongside that coordinating production schedules for various parts of the operation.

Whilst most of my experience had come from on-the-job training I decided to approach senior management and asked for some extra training.

I then pursued the level 3 certificate in transport and logistics and completed this certificate with Future Force Training. This allowed me to then complete certificate four in transport and logistics. This would be my first meeting with Robert who at the time was working for Futurum Australia and is now the general manager of AGB Human Resources. I found Robert to be an excellent trainer and completed certificate four over the next six months.

After completing certificate four Robert asked if I would be interested in starting a Diploma in Logistics management under AGB Human Resources. I accepted and began in January 2009. Since that time I have also had three of my staff undertake certificate three in Transport and Logistics of which two have now completed. Their trainer for the course has been Ray, one of Robert’s employees who has done an excellent job with my staff so far. AGB are very flexible which allows workers to fit training into their daily schedules and is a big help for employers also.

Robert has built AGB Human Resources into a sound business and offers many different training plans to suit your business. These can be one-on-one training on-site as well as group classes at AGB. One other new type of training tool is blackboard training via the Internet on the AGB website; I am currently using this learning aid and find it very convenient and also easy to understand.

I would have no hesitation in hiring AGB Human Resources for more training in the future and would highly recommend them to all other businesses in the Victorian region.

I am writing this testimonial letter at the request of AGB Human Resources.

I enrolled in the Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs Work course under the Government PPP Productivity Placement Program in March 2009.

Initially I had reservations with regard to my abilities to successfully complete this course.

Thanks to the staff at AGB and the transformational experience the total course provided, I not only graduated the course but gained employment directly after finishing my work placement at the Geelong Withdrawal Unit.

To my surprise I was also voted “Student of Merit” by my peers.

As a part of my ongoing studies I have also completed Cert IV in Mental Health (non-clinical) and have enrolled in the upcoming Diploma in Alcohol and Other Drugs Work.

I have a job in my chosen field, a new-found confidence and a much brighter future for myself and my family thanks to Ron, (community services trainer) the staff of AGB and the government provided/subsidised training.

I have been a student at AGB in the past, completing 2 Certificate IVs and am currently doing a Diploma there. I have been happy that AGB exists as the training delivered is great. The core modules are delivered professionally and in an enjoyable manner, as the trainer has had plenty of industry experience and has been very helpful. I, as many other students, have had plenty of help outside the classroom and I personally have been mentored by the trainer. With his suggestions I have been able to successfully obtain employment in an area I wanted and have been and still are very grateful for the help from all the staff at AGB. I would have no hesitation in recommending them for anyone to get the extra training and skills base needed to obtain employment or upskilling of existing qualifications.
