This qualification reflects the role of senior civil works designers or para-professional designers who support professional engineers. They perform tasks that are broad, specialised, complex and technical and include strategic areas and initiating activities.
They are responsible for the design of complex projects to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements and are required to demonstrate self-directed application of theoretical and technical knowledge and initiate solutions to technical problems or management requirements.

Prospective students are to provide own computer with the following requirements:

OS: Windows 8, Windows 7 x64 Professional or Ultimate
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 or greater, AMD Athlon or greater, dual-core @3.0GHz with SSE2
RAM: 8GB
GPU: 256MB memory or greater, DirectX 9 and Open-GL compatible
HDD: 200GB free space, Display: 1280×1024 or greater recommended, 3-button mouse

  • Course Duration: 33 weeks (excluding holidays)
    46 weeks (including holidays)
  • Full Time Study: 15 hrs Classroom based
    5 hrs Research/Assignments
    5 hrs Self Study
  • Mode of Delivery: Classroom
  • At this level of study it is expected that you study for a minimum of 25 hours of study per week (15 hours face to face classroom based study, two days attendance from 9:00am to 5:00pm and 10 hours self-paced study) including, but not limited to homework, assessment tasks and individual research.
