The Geelong addiction courses giving professionals the tools to help communities

If you want to help support people at the coal face of alcohol addiction in the community, then AGB Training should be your first port of call.

The range of Geelong alcohol addiction courses at our local training facility equip students with the knowledge and skills to work alongside professionals in communities helping those suffering from alcohol addiction and abuse.

A new report from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare has found that consuming alcohol, tobacco and other drugs causes havoc with our health – the substances were a major cause of preventable disease and illness across the nation. Out of all the principal drugs of concern that triggered people seeking help, alcohol topped the list at 32 per cent.

Alcohol abuse also contributes to increased chronic disease, mental and behavioural disorders, injury, accidents and early death. Its toll on the community is devastating and costly in terms of people’s lives and overall financial burden.

With so many people seeking help to overcome issues with alcohol, AGB Training’s Geelong alcohol addiction courses help deliver well-trained people to the community front line to help.

Our students can provide professionals with quality support in rehabilitating people struggling from alcohol and drug addiction. And with the problem growing across the country, the need for a large, skillful network of people to provide that support is vital.

We offer Certificate IV and Diploma in Alcohol And Other Drugs, with students tackling the courses having to carry out a minimum of 25 hours of study every week. The workload includes research, online study and classroom participation.

The certificate course takes 26 weeks to complete, not counting holiday periods, while the diploma’s length is 48 weeks.

It’s worth noting that the courses can lead to further pathway studies too, such as Charles Sturt University’s Bachelor of Social Science.

If you want to be part of the community battle against alcohol and drug addiction, supporting professionals to help clients build better lives, then our courses are a great step. Please contact AGB Training for further information.
